The boys are gearing up for school.  Brayden will be returning to the classroom and Trevin will be home schooled, at least for a while.  It seems, sometimes, that we have misplaced a year.  Brayden was in third and Trevin in first grade when we left.  Now Brayden will be entering the fifth and Trevin the third grade.  What happened to fourth and second?  I want the boys to always remember how the doctors and nurses at Duke and God has healed them, but a small part of me hopes they will forget the pain and discomfort of the process.

We are adjusting to being home, though it has only been two months, it seems much longer.  Because Trevin is so sensitive to the sun, we are not able to get out much during the day.  We try to take walks every evening before the sun is completely down.  Brayden, however, is not remotely sensitive to the sun and is eager to be outside when he can.  It is difficult to find a happy medium so Trevin doesn't feel left out, but not penalize Brayden as well.

Clinically, the boys are doing great.  At our last visit at Duke, they collected another immune study and chimerism.  We will not know the full results of these studies until the first of September.  We do know that their donor ratio has not changed.  Brayden is 30+% donor and Trevin is 90% donor.  It is hard to believe it has been a year since their first transplant.

We will update more regarding the immune study after our visit in September.  Please remember all the children undergoing transplants/cancer in your prayers.  They need prayer warriors!

God Bless,

Gina
